Tony Ballachino-Complex Director:
Tony is a graduate of St Edward High School. He attended
Cleveland State University where he majored in business
administration. He has been a member of the Softball
World Management since 1988. He has held positions as
Umpire-in-Chief from 1992 to 1996. He was the volleyball
director and assistant park manager form 1996 to 2001.
In 2001 he was promoted to general manager and park
director.
He has been a major part of the Cleveland Competitive
softball community for the past 20 years. His softball
credentials include player/manager of the Family Trio
Premier Men's from 1988 to 1998. The Family Trio team
was a mainstay in the Brooklyn Premier league, Softball
World premier league, and a USSSA Men's Class C
tournament team. He has been a tournament director for
the past 15 years and has been directing leagues for 18
years.
On personal note-Tony has been a resident of Columbia
Station for the past 10 years. He has been married to
his wife (Melissa) for the past five years and has a
daughter (Nicole - 3 years old). He is a scratch bowler
and avid sports fanatic. A member of the Cleveland
Italian-American Organization, the Knights of Columbus,
the National Softball Association (NSA), the Sports
Operators and Developers Association (SODA), the
Cleveland High School Athletic Association, and American
Bowling Congress (ABC).
Norm Pawlus-Assistant Complex General Manager:
Norm is a graduate of John Marshall high school. He has
been a member of the Softball World staff since 1986. He
has held positions as grounds crew manager and assistant
umpire in chief. He was promoted to assistant general
manager in 2001. Norm is an avid softball fanatic and
has been directing leagues and tournaments for the past
10 years. His passion for the game along with his duly
commitment to detail has made Norm a great ambassador to
the game of Softball and welcome addition to the
Softball World management.
On a personal note - Norm has recently purchased a home
in Parma and is currently single. He is a member of the
Cleveland Italian American Organization, Knights of
Columbus, National Softball Association Tournament
Director, and Sports Operators and Development
Association (SODA).
Ted Achladis-Assistant Park Manager, Volleyball
Director:
Ted Achladis has been an employee at Softball World for
6 years as an umpire, grounds crew, bartender, manager,
and baseball director. Ted has been an umpire and a
player in the game of slow-pitch softball for 22 years.
Ted has also implemented Softball Worlds summer
Instructional Baseball Youth League. Ted is still an
active player in the game as well as an umpire and
Director. His passion for the game from all aspects is
recognized from all who know him. His motto as an umpire
is "I will NEVER be out hustled".
Kevin Heneghan-Softball World/Head Umpire:
Kevin Heneghan has been an umpire for ten years at
Softball World. He is starting his 6th year as
Umpire-In-Chief at Softball World. He has years of
experience as a referee, officiator, and umpire of a
variety of athletic games including basketball, baseball
and football. He is a professional who has a solid
reputation and a good grasp of the rules and regulations
of play.
Currently, he is member of several professional athletic
organizations including:
- Ohio High School Athletic Association, 1998
- Suburban Umpires Association, 1998
- Northern Ohio Officials Association, 2001
- Lake Erie Basketball Officials Association, 2000
- Cleveland Football Officials Association, 2000
For at least six years, he has been refereeing High
School Football and Varsity Football for the past four
years. He’s also been officiating High School Basketball
for six years. He has been doing Varsity basketball for
last 4 years.
For the last seven years, In addition, he has been
umpiring High School Fast-Pitch Softball and Baseball.
In 2003, he was chosen to umpire the Regional Fastball
Softball game. Just this year, he was elected
Vice-President of Suburban Umpires Association
